Sticky Honey Cake



  • 4ozs. sugar,
  • 6ozs. honey,
  • 1/3 pint of milk,
  • 8 ozs. s.r. flour,
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder,
  • 1 egg (beaten).


1. Set oven at 180 C.

2. Heat sugar, milk and honey in a sacepan and stir gently until the sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool.

3. Sift the flour and baking powder in a bowl, tip the sugar, honey and milk mixture onto the beaten egg and then pour into the middle of the bowl with the flour. Stir gently until smooth.

4. Pour into the cake tin and bake in oven for about 30 minutes. Test by inserting skewer in the middle of the cake and see if it comes out clean.
