Spring and summer are the perfect time to enjoy zesty fresh flavours and keep yourself cool with on those hot afternoons. Surprise your family and friends with some fresh lemonade, a perfect little something at a BBQ.
Ingredients
- 6 – 7 lemons
- Fresh mint bunch
- 2 tsp unrefined sugar
- 300ml water
Method
1, Disolve 2 teaspoons of sugar with 100 ml water and pour into your lemonade container
2, Squeeze the juice from 6 or 7 lemons, saving the rind of one and pour into the jar.
3, Grab some mint and either cup it in your hand and give it a slap or roll it in a dish cloth and pass a rolling pin over it. By bruising the mint you delicately release the flavour from the leaves. Add this to the mixture.
4, Pour in 200 ml water and stir together. Taste the lemonade and an adjust with a little more sugar if you find it too sharp.
If you would like fizzy lemonade, use the same process with sparkling water.
Add cucumber to the mint and lemon, really yummy!
Thanks for the suggestion, we’ll definitely try that 🙂
Thanks for the advice, we remade it and it was delicious
