Rosquitas – Doughnuts with Syrup



  • 3 whole eggs in a glass (use the same glass to measure the oil and sugar
  • 1 glass vegetable oil
  • 1 glass sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 1 tbs Malt Vinegar
  • 500gms Self Raising Flour
  • Vegetable oil to fry.


  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 a lemon juice


1. Beat eggs, oil, sugar, vinegar, vanilla essence, then add flour a little at a time, if too sticky add a little more flour.

2. Shape your dough into  doughnuts and fry in hot oil.

3. Place sugar and water in saucepan, stirring occasionally until it thickens a little. Once doughnuts are cooled add a few at a time in cooled syrup, place on plate to one side and sprinkle hundred and thousands over your doughnuts.
